Franklin Robert "Bobby" Lashley[6][7] (born July 16, 1976)[6] is an American professional wrestler, mixed martial artist, former collegiate amateur wrestler and former United States Army sergeant. He is currently signed to both Bellator MMA, where he is undefeated through five heavyweight fights, and to Impact Wrestling under his real name. In TNA/Impact, Lashley is a four-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, a one-time X Division Champion and one-time and final King of the Mountain Champion. He is also known for his time in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he is a two-time ECW World Champion and one-time United States Champion. Between TNA and WWE, Lashley has won 9 total championships including six world championships. Lashley attended Missouri Valley College, where he won three national college amateur wrestling championships, in 1996,1997 and 1998, he was the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Wrestling Champion.[8] He later joined the United States Army, where he continued to wrestle.[1][9] He was training for the Olympics in 2004, when he suffered a knee injury while doing business at a bank where a robbery broke out.[10] The injury ended his Olympic plans, and he went into professional wrestling soon after.[11]
